So a coworker recently got a 10g tank, treated the water with Aquasafe, bought a snail and three pineapple swords. I found out he had the tank after about two weeks. I let him borrow my liquid test kit over the weekend and brought in my extra filter in a little baggie. He thinks the snail has died (probably from starvation, and I let him know such, and what he could do to fix it in the future.) but the swords seem to be doing fine. He also tested the water as instructed and came back with nuclear levels of ammonia and nitrite. Also as instructed, he immediately began daily 50% water changes. My extra bacteria-infested filter couldn't have come at a better time.
