I read that article and I'll make sure not to buy any of them. I think those are the ones that you see on ebay for like $5 for 100 of them or something like that.

hmmm too late for me....I added about 50 of these to my tank. They have been good citizens from what I can tell. We shall see though

Well, from the sounds of it, they should die in a couple of years anyways... and then you can replace them with real nassarius snails.

I think I've got some too, stupid store.

the mexican turbo snails are great grazers but they live in colder water than the 78-80 that some reef has and they don't last very long.
Just wanted to add another "so-so" creature sold in many stores.

I had heard bumble bees are also temperate water snails.....

I have had some of my turbos for over a year without any loss of life.....other than a couple shell jacked by hermits

margaritas are definitely cool water snails also

after less than 2 years my turbo bailed, 'cause i had 85 ish temp in my tank during the summer :S but the other snails like the bumble bees are still ok

hmm thx for the info i'll be sure to watch out for these and i think your right Joe Fish i've seen them on ebay like 10bucks for 100's of them

I ended up getting 50-60 of them before reading the article. I'm pretty sure they are all for the most part still ticking.
