Will Bio-Spira be affected by ammonia in my tank?

Hello!
I have started a fishless cycle, but have since found Bio-Spira. I have 4ppm Ammonia in my tank right now. Would putting the Bio-Spira in there ruin it? Should I wait until the ammonia comes down a bit first before putting it in there? Shall I do a large water change to get rid of most of the ammonia?

I'd do a water change to get rid of the ammonia. Biospira works best on a tank that is freshly set up.

The short answer is, NO. Bio Spira is simply nitrifying bacteria.
