Think that depends on how big your tank is.Smaller the tank the worse it will be.
Having said that Shrimp are tough little critters,I can go for ages without seeing both of mine but then they just both appear out of the blue.If one is missing for any amount of time it's probably just shed it's skin and is hardening off a new one.

Yeah, your fish will make a meal out of the carcass. Sometimes I'd find a corpse, sometimes not... I'd always net out the body when I did, but often they got to em first.

Only time I was concerned about the rotting body was in my little glass planted vase. Volume of water was too small to allow for any excess ammonia build-up. But in bigger tanks I think it will be ok.

From my experience with ghost shrimp is that as almost as soon as they die, they are eaten up. I actually buy my eel ghost shrimp for a snack. He eats parts of them, and as soon as he is done my gouramis finish it off. So as many have said before me, no worries.
