I have a 90 galllon tank and am planning to put two oscars in it. Question, is there a good chance the the Oscars will fight a lot, and compete for food, or will they generally be happy living together. I know it varies greatly from fish to fish, but what are the odds of the two oscars living together in harmony. I've read the 1male+1female will work as well as 2 females, but 2 males will not work. So if I am right that works out to a 75% chance of it working. Also what color combination would looke cool, for example, red+tiger, or tiger+albino. Thanks for the replies!

I have a friend that has about a 100 Gal and he has almost 5 oscars (or more) in there. I would say if they grow up together it should be fine. Yes there will be some scuffles here and there when they get larger but i think it should be fine. And it might be that you may only be able to keep them a short while until you have to sell them or move 1. Good Luck.

5 or 6 is better. Oscars are cichlids and they behave like them. The dominant oscar is gonna beat the hell outta the other oscar. They could live together, but the weaker one is gonna be miserable. The more oscars the more peaceful it is. And a 90 gal. is fine for two, most of the time, because each oscar has its own personality. I don't know about 5 full grown oscars inna 100 gal though. IMO, a good rule for oscars is 50 gal. for the first oscar and 35 for each oscar after that. Getting a group and pairing them off would be the best thing to do.
