woohoo! i gots me some yoyos!

hehehe my lfs came through! they had a tank full of little baby yoyo loaches and i got two. boy there tiny...bout half an inch long. chillin by themselves in my once empty ten gallon(tanks with water and no fish arent much fun to look at hehe)

i know theyll get more aggressive when they get older, but im gonna move em to a larger tank when the time comes.

hehehe i have a problem with them disapearing too hehe they dont hide in the rocks or anything, but with their coloration they vanish on the sand i have

add another loach to my list hehe

hmmm. one of the yoyos seems to have trouble staying upright in the tank when hes swimming, or at rest now. the other is fine and can stay upright with no problem. hope he pulls through...

well im sorry to say that the disoriented loach died last night gonna go bury him this morning...sad to see him go, but the other yoyo is kickin strong

being that its Labor Day today the lfs i bought him from is probably closed(making the 24 hour return policy a joke!) ill gladly buy another yoyo, i just hope they have em the next time i go...

i meant that the pattern on the yoyo matches the grain of sand that i have, and when they stop moving they disapear

lol cool sorry for your loss loach i always burry my fish at sea...the toliet... ill tell you about my boys 1 of them is got a fat belly on him one has no left eye which is quite strange but hes ok no worrys and my other is the smallest the little guys black marks are as strong as the other 2 but hes getting darker hope you get another if fact get 2 more if your tank can have it there real nice and look great in threes!

cool ive read many things about them, anywhere from they are solitary to schooling. i wonder if 3 would get along in a ten until they get bigger...probably not they are very tiny though...im not sure...any ideas people?

how big are your yoyos fishface?

my big boy god hes fat is about 2" and my one with no eye 1" and a half and the smallest is about 1 and a quater inches they arent very accurate the old ruler on the glass trick mine seem to school (swiming near each other at the bottom) fine seem to get on well i think 3 three in a ten should be ok the first time i put my 3 in my 25 they stayed away and hid a bit but then the settled in gained confined and are doing great but im not serpirsed that one didnt die from stess he went from the 25 to the 10 and back to the 25 in a week! and believe me there really hard to catch!

cool then! im gonna go get two more tommorrow after i pick my brother up from school. the one i got is about 3/4 an inch long(think i said half an inch earlier, sorry i was wrong)

the yoyo was hiding all day untill i put the guppies inside the tank with him, then he started swimming with them, like he was trying to school do they grow faster then clown loaches? if they grow as fast as clowns they should be ok for a while.

people say they grow fast but i dont think they do mine havent grown THAT fast but quite quickly.

thanks conman! i got the last three yoyos from the lfs(didnt want to leave one alone in a tank full of huge bala sharks(my lfs needs some help...)

i know 4 yoyos in a ten is a bit much, but they are really tiny and ill move them into the bigger tanks when they get to that size. im also building an undergravel tunnel system for them, so they can move around without being bothered by any other fish. might never get to see em if i do that hehehe.

so far there are three on the bottom and one swims with the guppies, but last night i caught em schooling together! they look way better in a school, best 6 bucks i ever spent hehehe

nice one loachey! 4s a good number hope they are doing ok and dont worry about they sizes until they do get big (about 2 monthes or so) ill bet they will like the undetground tunnel

yeah, id have felt really bad if i left ONE baby loach in a bala shark tank hehehe all four are doing great this morning! theyre patrolling the bottom in pairs right now and they all play and do tricks like my clowns do, which is so cool! they swim on their backs more then my clowns do, its great at feeding time they also really like to play in the breeding grass i bought from walmart. i love these little guys!

i think my puffer is getting mad at me hehehe

thanks about the UG tunnel i got the idea from www.loaches.com no pictures, but the words of undergravel tunnel system were enough for me hehe

I'd like to see pics of the UG tunnel when you build it. It sounds like a great idea...I wonder if it could be done out of clear tubing and have a small portion sticking above the gravel so they can be seen?

Definately adding yoyo's to my "wanted fish" list, as we just love our clowns and dojo...the yoyo's seem like they will fit right in

ill get some pics if i can get a camera im not sure what size pvc to use...i know yoyos only get about 41/2 inches long, but idk how fat they get hehehe and clowns get way bigger then yoyos do, so id have to keep them seperated because clowns will JAM themselves into a small hole. ill do a little more resarch about it, but i have the general idea

sound good! get a couple of pics of your tanks while your at it lol sorry i have to go back on something i said just looking at my biggest yo yo now he is BIG to say i got him a month ago i guess these guys do grow quite fast and clowns do JAM them selefs places i lost 2 because of this they got into a tiny gap in an ols helicoper lost the other to ick R.I.P
