I was looking at my salt tank. In the sand I noticed what looked like a skinny worm. I moved the rock it was kind of under...and now I can't find the work-like thing. Anyone have any ideas?

thats a tough one there are a couple different kinds of worms some good, some bad, i will see if my books can come up with any distinguishiing charachteristics, also you might wanna id it before you let it have free reign in your tank, its prolly in the rock, and the best way to get it out is to do a high salinity dip i think the salt level should be like 1.035 but not sure on that, hope this helps,

It's most likely a bristle worm thought there are planty of others. These can be a nuisance if you're keeping a reef, but you're not so just forget it. They do make good scavengers as a big plus. I have several in my tank, but I'm not going to bother pulling them out.
