worm thingy in my tank

K the thing is I work at wal mart and I was cleaning the tanks and there was this small brown thing swimming around the tank. Before there was a feeder fish with like this lump right behind its lower jaw. Could this be something that came out of the lump or what?

Sounds like the tank needs treated... are all the tanks connected in some way? I don't know if treatment would help much if they are.
