I probably should post this in the "Got Deals" forum but this mainly pertains to cichlids. For those of you in the St. Louis Metro area(it may be nation-wide), I just left PetSmart and they are having a SALE on cichlids. I believe just about every one was HALF PRICE or LE$$! Cyphotilapia frontosa - normally $34.99 were going for $17.49 and these guys were all a good 2-3 inches:eek: !!! Tropheus duboisi - normally $24.99, going for $11.99. Labidochromis caeruleus (yellow labs) were, like five bucks!!! I could keep on going but you get the idea. I called a couple of other stores and supposedly this is a company-wide sale. I don't know if that means nation-wide. You may want to call or go buy you local PetSmarts and find out. It looks like the sale ends 11/6/05.

I just thought I'd pass this on to my fellow CICHLID LOVERS!*BOUNCINGS

wow that is a pretty good deal if you've got a place to keep them! lol

I don't even think it would be worth my time to check out the nearest petsmart to me. Only africans I've ever seen have mainly been mbuna and hybrids...

True! I really don't buy my fish from there anymore. They just recently started carrying the C. frontosa & Tropheus. I always like to look when I go in for other supplies. I must admit I have seen some pretty pitiful fish @ PetSmart, but these ALL looked pretty damn good. Then again I'm no expert. I've been wanting some C. frontosa & Tropheus for so long now but as you said Orion, I have no place to put 'em. Maybe I could just turn my apartment into one big aquarium. Hmmm......
