WTB: Typhlonectes Natans [Grey Rubber Worms/Eeels; Caecilians]

#1
I am looking for 2 or more “Typhlonectes Natans”, also known as “Caecilians” / “Rubber Eels” / “Rubber Worms”.

These AMPHIBIANS live in water 100% of the time. Examples can be seen at www.caecilian.org

I was lucky enough to obtain two of these specimens at PETLAND SUPERSTORE location on Regent Ave. in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 8, 2003. One year later, they have not received further specimens. I had bought them on a whim, but thereafter I learned much about them and now wish to breed them.

Please advise me if your local store(s) carry these species, and if so, how much they are asking per specimen?

In particular, I am interested in FEMALES.

Thanks!

Please email or "private message" me if you know of any that are available.

And never ordered them again, even though they were on our list.

To send our fishermen to get these things I have to get around 400-800, if
they come back with less it is not worth the cost. The problem is that they
need to spend several days in the area, and there is not much else to catch
there, and it takes 3 days to go there. So there is no point unless I have
orders from my customers in Asia. Last year we had 800 of them here.

It could be we get some again in Spring when they are out in larger numbers
with onset of the rains, then they sometimes catch small numbers while going
for fish.

Sorry, O.

This was my original reply from Oliver when I asked him about availability in Canada...

Sorry, but they are not worth bringing in for us. We had them on our list
several times last year but pet stores in Canada are not interested, so we
have not had imported them since.
