XP3 Top on XP2 Filter

I am looking to upgrade the flow on my XP2. I recenlty found someone selling the Top of an XP3 filter. My question is will it fit on my XP2 bottom. I dont mind not having the extra basket.

Any info would be appericated.

The Rena website has different part numbers for the XP1, XP2 & XP3 tops.
I would surmise that it just has to do with the electrical power, etc of the motor.
I would say go for it.

(I called and they will be open after the holidays on January 2, 2007.)

I called Rena 1-800-968-7362, I talked to a guy he said that the only diff between the XP filters is the size and thickness of impeller blades. He reccomended running an XP3 impeller in my XP2 to increase water flow. Looking at the specs it is only 50GPH diff between the XP2 and XP3. A new impeller is $25.00 and the top I am not sure yet I will have to bidd on it. It is at $30 now.

I went looking for info to support and I found that the XP filtter use different amounts of power so the motors have to be different. The impellers are different as well.

I wonder if an XP4 top could go on an XP3? mmm.....filtration....

I was having that exact same thought about the XP4 top. But I'll bet if you can actually buy one it will cost more than an XP3.

If you can get the XP3 top for that I'd say get it. You get the impeller you need, plus you have an extra motor if one ever should go bad.
