Yabbie Lobsters

Anyone kept one before? I have one and he ended up in a tank alone as he murdered my bristlenose I've been looking a bit online, and was wondering if possibly someone had some first hand knowledge. Thanks much!

hmm,i dont have 1,but as far as i kno,they cannot mix with any fish unless a very big 1.they are mostly omnivores but for me they are carnivores lol.

I read in another thread on here that crayfish/lobsters can only be kept with fish that are "fast enough and smart enough" to outrun them. Also, any bottom dwelling fish would be a big target for crustacean aggresssion. I tried to find the other thread, but I couldn't. Otherwise I'd refer you to look there. How large are yabbie lobsters? How large is the tank you hope to keep them in?

Yabbie's get far too big for all but the largest of community tanks. Those from Tasmania or Kiwi-land can top 7 pounds at maturity.

If you don't know what species you're messing with, you're asking for exactly what you'll get; nothing but trouble.
