Yellow gourami's

I have 2 55 gallon tanks and recently 2 of my yellow or golden gourami's are turning black all these fish have being added at about the same time. 2 months later this happened what is going on???


Could this be from ammonia poisoning or is it something else.I do partial water changes 25% sometimes 50% maybe twice a week.Any ideas would greatly help.Fish in tank are 3 golden gourami,3 blue gourmi,2 panda barbs,3 hatchette,2 grey and 2 albino cory and one Blue crayfish

I haven't a clue on the color change, but I doubt it's from ammonia poisoning if all your fish are happy and healthy. Very cool looking gourami by the way!

Do you have a water parameter test kit?

Looks like adult coloration of the Trichopodus trichopterus . Those that have been selectively bred for different colors such as the gold color, often vary quite a bit from juvie to adulthood.

I agree with OC. It looks like a fine example of an adult gold gourami.
