it seems that my apartment is infavor of aquatic plants and likes to kill terrestrial ones;) ...so my dinningroom table is about to get a centerpiece.

I was looking at doing about a 1-2g planted beta bowl. I was thinking a small piece of driftwood with anubias nana, and perhaps some dwarf sag ground cover..or maybe evenjava moss. They should be fine in low light and the lower room temp. Not sure if I will use an actual substrate, or some coarse sand.

I was also thinking of putting in 1 or 2 ghost or amano shrimp.

Anyone have any opinions/suggestions?

i was thinking abou this for lighting how about running lights under the gravel, there is enough room around the rocks for light to pass through, the only thing would be hiding the cord. I would try to keep it simple in the tank, bettas are so pretty of fish that it will be teh center piece, maybe a little japenses tree in the gravel or just a few bunches of Variegated Japanese Dwarf Rush around some rocks, that would look gorages.
