Youtube statement?

Hi all,
I Know its sad but i was surfing youtube on the net and was looking at the fighting fish videos.

Ok i have a fighting fish which is quite happy, but the statement was by a viewer ' Fighting fish should be kept in a fish bowl as the bubbles and a filter will stress it out.'

Is this a fact or a very bad comment?

Humm, i dont think it will 'stress it out', but my betta doesnt really like a strong current. I don't really think a betta should be kept without a filter unless you are going to do waterchanges every 2 days or so.

i've seen that said about both bettas and aquatic frogs... but i don't think it seems like good advice to say that anything should not be kept with a filter. obviously some fish (bettas being one) are better kept with no filtration than others, but saying that filter=bad... doesn't seem like sound advice to me.

Thanks guys for the advice, it does seem a bit strange.

in my opinion if you dont have filter/bubbler do daily water changes to keep everything down.

filter+Pump= GOOD!
healthy happy fish thrive in that enviroment.
