I just had a couple of questions about yoyo loaches....

Can they be kept on their own or do they need to be in a group?

And, will they be compatiable with plecos (i.e. not fight for space on the bottom)? I have one bristlenose (about 3 inches) and one rubberlip (about 1.5 inches). There are plenty of caves and plants in my tank.

Thanks.

They generally like to be in groups of at least 3, 6 is best, but not completely necessary.

They would do fine with plecos providing that they all have plenty of bottom space and there are plenty of places to hide.

What size tank would this be in? Other tankmates?

I agree...they need a group. Mine are peaceful. I have a bristlenose and cories too and everyone gets along great.

My yoyos hide alot, so having a cave or some driftwood is necessary. Mine have a little hideout dug under each of my pieces of driftwood. I came home yesterday to find a little pile of substrate where they made their newest hideout under the small piece. They are so funny!

What size tank do you have? I think a 3 foot (36 inch) tank is necessary. Mine are very active...they chase each other from one end of the 55g to the other, so I couldn't imagine them being in anything smaller than 3 foot.
