ok, i was wondering about zoos. do you have to feed them and do they add bioload?

no need to feed. Only lights. No bioload

Ram, I feed mine mysis (mainly the juice and smaller parts) once a week when I feed mysis to the fish in the tank. For the bioload, they are minimal, nothing to worry about. Very good corals to start out with and are really pretty.

There are several aquarists who do not feed their zoos directly and they do fine too, so it just depends.

i for example do not feed directly and they thrive...they are really primarily photosynthetic

Well their symbiotic zooxanthellae give 'em pretty much what they need, assuming there is enough light..but well i fish my fish and yeah there must be leftovers that they catch..but no target feeding here 4 my zoanthids

you gotta be careful with the juices from frozen foods--algae loves that stuff

I don't directly feed mine either but they will grab any bits of frozen that land on their polyps and curl up on them.
