most of the fish that eat zucchini are bottom dwellers so having the zuchinni on the substrate works the best. i rubberband a slice to a rock, if you dont want to get your hand wet then just tie some fishing wire to it, it might not look as good but then again it only stays in there for 24hrs max.

zucchini is soft enough already compared to some of the pellets, putting it in raw is good enough, if you boil it then it might be too soft so when you take it out of the water it will distintigrate.

a tip is to leave the skin on so that the insides wont fall to bits when you lift it out of the water

You can either tie it to something, or do what I do. I peal it, cut it into strips, and boil it for a very short time. Don't boil it long enough to make it a gooey mess, just long enough to soften it up a bit. After that, it does sink all on it's own.

I've also read that you can't over feed your fish when feeding them veggies. I don't remember the source, but I do remember it was on a site that is rather knowledgeable.

Just don't leave it in for too long, no more than 24 hours. It will rot and contribute to ammonia problem.

I go with a piece off the end (part I'd usually throw away) leave it skin and all, they'll eat it out and then you can just pull it out and toss the skin.

i had same questions and issues earlier, the first time i wrapped a string around the piece and tied it to a fishing weight, it moved and the fish didnt eat it, i then wrapped a rubber band around it and to a flat rock and they ate it then, i put about a 3-4 inch piece on the rock and within 24 hours its gone

I got the veggie clip and man did it do the trick! Before I got that I was slicing it and putting a rock in the center of the slice. It worked until he ate to the center lol!
