what in the world????

ok so i took a close look at one of my tanks today and noticed a bunch of little white specs crawling around???
any one have any idea on what this could be?
i know everybody is gonna ask for pics but they are so small they wouldnt really show up.

i havent added anything to the tank. it is in direct sunlight for a little bit of the day so i do plan on moving it. but i really want to know what the heck i got growong in my tank and how to get rid of it.
