any1 try clams (Corbicula fluminea) in shrimp tank?

These things are supposed to help reduce nitrates, and have similiar feeding requirements to the shrimp, so I'm thinking of adding a few to my shrimp tank. Any1 else ever try this and how did it go?

OK, well that's 18 views and no responses so I'll take that as a resounding "No we haven't tried it".

It seems I'll be a pioneer of sorts here, I'll let you all know how it goes.

I think a few people on here have tried them with limited success. People don't usually opt to put them in a tank with fish because I think as "young clams" whatever they're called...they are a type of parasite.

Would probably be interesting though if you could keep them alive and get down a feeding/cleaning schedule.
