He is bigger but I think hes just bulkier than Bodacious was. I measured him and hes the same length. Just seems bigger in the tank. But then again maybe its cause hes so white. I dont know....LOL!

vikram...Macho is stunning! *thumbsups
You should post pics of him more often---especially now that we've got an oscar pic thread (thanks Katie). I swear I've seen him before...do you post over on cichlid-forum or oscarfish forum by any chance?

Here's my Triton (5.0" TL).

Nice oscars everyone, now let's see some more! :D

Wow BV,
Meaty and Triton have TOTALLY different shape eh?
I was just thinking that too---mainly with regards to their forehead areas.
Triton's curves from his mouth up to his dorsal fin a lot more 'smoothly' than Meaty's does---Meaty has that little 'crook' a little bit above his mouth where his forehead suddenly becomes more prominent.

I wonder if that is any indication as to the sex of our oscars.
I'm guessing probably not, since folks claim the only way is to either see them breed or to vent them once they're older. Maybe it's just because Meaty was slightly bigger (and perhaps a bit older) when you got him? I'm sure he's still bigger than Triton, right?

If I had to make a hunch based on the differences in their foreheads, I'd guess that Meaty is male and Triton is female---but we both know that's not really a reliable method when it comes to oscars, eh?

Sorry guys but these guys are externally the same. No way to tell the sex unless you vent (which is very difficult to do and not reliable) or you have a viable batch of eggs from your pair. Just remember which laid the egg :) I say viable because 2 females have been known to have a batch of eggs together.

Guys, they look great!!!

Drae and callyx are shaped differently top to bottom. Callyx is much more pointed. Drae is round.

Alright so I have found the killer in my tank. I thought that my Oscars had been fighting. I was wrong. My little two sided Leporinus was killing them. He behaved himself so well whenever I was watching the tank but the second my back was turned he was tearing up my fish. I lost poor Kona before I realized what was going on.

I should take some more as Ozzie is now in the 90G tank :D
