I'm upgrading my tank from a 60g to a 110g. Do I also need to upgrade my protein skimmer?
I currently have a Turboflotor T1000. It's rated up to 250g, I thought in my reading and what not that I wanted it to be about 4x my tank size. I am thinking correctly yes?
I was going to move all the rock I have in my tank plus Fishgeek is giving me all of hers from her 65g tank. So if I add more rock would I need the bigger skimmer or would I be ok with the one I have?
I also have coral and a couple of fish, I plan on upping the coral once I upgrade.
How would I know if I need to upgrade it to a bigger one. We probably empty the cup on the skimmer MAYBE if that once a week and not because it is full, just because nasty looking.
I don't have very many corals in my tank I plan I getting a few more...not all at once for the 110. Currently I have a small disk of zoe's, an elegance, a couple of types of mushrooms and a good size rock of star polyp.
