I want to start a saltwater my first. My brothers getting me a tank.I want to no about lighting and themometer thanks for helping. I have lots of questions.

For lighting, you'll need to decide if you want a FOWLR (fish only, with live rock) tank, or a reef tank (with corals).

A thermometer would be any one that you find, basically.

The sticky at the top of this forum has a lot of info about how to set up a nano tank. If you can, get some of the recommended books, they'll save you a lot of trouble and expense when setting up a saltwater tank.

Yea you have some basic reading to do first. Start with the stickies and then once your done with those you should know the basics. If your confused on something let everyone know. Good luck on everything. Its a crap load of fun.

i suggest go as big as u can to start out with since larger tanks are more forgiving..... a 20g is a nice starter tank....as far as a heater goes i suggest that you get one that isnt glass since the glass ones will eventualy over time brake and leak electricity into your tank or at least that was my experiance with them
