i got the ram pair today. the male's tail is abit torn but it was the best male they had in the tank. 1 and only female in the tank (i think because it was the only one with short fins and red belly) @ the LFS. any experts want to give me some tips on breeding them (read some info on breeding them). i will be moving them to my 10g when its finished cycling.

Well unless you have soft water, its unlikely the eggs will hatch. But i found breeding easy, it was the hatching part that didnt happen.

That's not an ovipositor. In fact it looks like a bit of dropped intestine.
From here your angel looks a bit thin and the dropped intestine is not good news. I'd start reading up on possible causes and treatments. Good luck.
