Automatic Feeders

#1
We've been going to Germany almost every year for like two months every summer and I always feel bad for the people who have to come here every day and feed the fish. Does anyone use automatic feeders that they would recommend? I was looking for one that would feed betta food and fish flakes at the same time. But by the time I get the feeder my last betta will probably be dead. Still, any suggestions?

I can't remember what one my bro uses but I highly recommend making sure your feeder drops the food (particularly flake food) into a feeding ring (which everyone should use for surface feeders any how). It'll really keep down the mess in the tank while you're gone (and then your fish sitter won't have to clean the tank too often).

I bought a Hydor one, and it worked pretty well. You can adjust the amount of food, as well as how many times a day it feeds. It can also be attached to an airpump and airline to keep the food dry. As the food goes in one hopper, you can mix whichever dry foods in there that you want.

This is the one: EKOMIXO Fish Feeder Battery w/Air Connect (Hydor)

Always test your feeder for a few days before you go on vacation to make sure it's working right and feeding the right amount.

I've only used it for four days so far (I don't get vacations anymore :(). It worked fine. I generally leave my freshwater fish with no food for a four or five day trip, but I was worried about my saltwater fish.
