This fish came in to the shop today with a bunch of mbuna. Supposedly its around 5 years old. Its like a regular JD, just cut in half with a tail pinned on, very weird. Excuse my bad pics and algae!
It's common enough, but it's a deformity and most fish with it are culled as babies when it's discovered they've got it. If you do a google image search for short bodied fish, you'll probably find quite a lot.
Yeh...its a deformity...and a commodity on MFK.com. I felt bad for it, its very timid and...all it wants to do is hide. I have a feeling it was beat up by the large mbuna it came in with.
