Hello friends, the 55 has been up and running just beautifully. It consists of three blood parrotts and three raphael cats. The bio load is managable and the tank is well aerated.I would like to add some tetras ,as the parrotts hide and so do the cats, the only time the parrots come out of their logs is at feeding times, and the raphaels seem to be nonexistent. However two potential problems may arise that I need your counsel about. One ,could this already be, tank overload, and two, this is a healthy tank,no fatalities and thriving, growing fish.I have no quarantine tank to foster new arrivals.Arrivals that may harbor disease. My parrotts are very social when they do come out,to greet me.Should I just let it be?-D

Well that wont make them come out anymore. The cover helps make the secure. You might be able to add some Giant Danios to the tank. They are fast and active. I dont see that adding 5-7 of these would be an issue in your tank.

Mercury,That is a great idea, however the three raphael cats enjoy the same cover as the parrotts. The cichlids are in the logs and the cats are in scooped out depressions under these same logs.My reservations on adding dithers is probably well founded? The tank is already stocked to capacity?-D

Thanks friends

Then danios it will be.Providing they are healthy.I've shopped many pet outlets and seen unhealthy fish.Petco seems to be the only one most concerned about selling healthy stock.I will see if they have suitable danios.Thank you all.-D

Giant Danios are a good choice...I keep a small school in my 90g with my oscars..the oscars dont even both them. they are quick to eat the left overs from the Oscars as well so I have less wated food in the tank. I also have to raphael Cats in that same tank.
