New fish..maybe

My mother in law called me and asked me if i wanted a new fish and tank...she said it is a pink cichlid..thats all she knows..approx. measurements are 6" long and about 4" in girth/width. I asked what size tank..I was told 55g and everything included. I asked how much the lady was asking and she told me FREE. I cant pass it up. I will find out if it's a done deal tomorrow.
Heres the question..what type of Cichlid is pink.

I agree with bobby boy as far as what it could be. At a far fetch it may even be a flower horn, but I kinda doubt it.

I've seen very wide Red Devils/Midas. If i had to guess, thats what i'd guess.

I wish i could get any tank free.

Heh, I've only gotten one free tank and that was a 29 gallon. Just about anything's good if it's free, but I'm still waiting till the day I find a 300g someone just wants to give me. I got a feeling I'm going to be waiting a very long time........

I tend to agree with the general consensus on the type of fish. I've seen some pretty big convicts too, but I don't think they were that round.

Mine too....and as i said it was described to me as width...I am thinking diameter as well but Parrot's are the only fish I have personally seen wider than they are long. Well anyway I will find out about it tomorrow. Atleast if i was a channel cat i would have a good meal..lmao

not sure what happened with this deal..was supposed to have gotten the tank last friday...still dont have it..looks like i may just have to take my other 90g to texas with me and get it set up to.

Just asked my wife what the deal was...appearantly the FISH heard the lady talk about getting rid of him and has sunk into a state of depression so I guess it is on hold while the FISH gets treatment for this depression.

Well its a good thing, what if the fish goes into cardiac arrest or something? It will die if someone isn't there to give it CPR!

yea..well the full story is she was giving it away because she got custody of a grandchild and they needed the fish's ROOM for the child. Yes the fish had it's own bedroom.
