Hi, i've only been into the fishing thing for a couple of years and this is my first experiance with Ick. I believe it is ick after searching it and matching up the symptoms of my fish to the disease, Right now my shark is suffering the most with a big spot in the middle of his right side. The reason I need help is because here in Albuquerque NM our fish supply stores are limited to things like Petco and Petsmart and thier employes are not very knowlagable.. I need to Know what kind of treatment i should use for my tank... as i have quite a bit of Diversity.. I just know 1 thing can work for 1 fish while it will kill another, Should i use Salt and Heat? a Mixture treatment? and where could i find it and how much would it cost me? Plz reply soon. Thanks guys and gals.

Don't use Salt because of your loaches. They are very sensitive to it.
Rid Ich is good, it should be at pet-co. Jungle tabs work well (they helped me with a fungus that was in one of my tanks), and some other medications. I would use medications and raise the heat up to about 86, that should be the limit for your loaches. Everyone else is fine with it, it's the loaches you need to worry about.

After raising the heat (do it slowly) make sure to have extra airation (less o2 in warmer water.) Then add the medication. Run the medication for the reccomended time on the bottle (you might want to put a touch less in there for your loaches... If it says 3 capfuls use 2 and a half.) After the spots go away, make sure to keep using the medication for three days after.

Slowly lower the heat to normal. The ich should be gone. :)
