Hey all, bad news on my end. I came back from a long day of work + school to find my Dwarf Gourami "Jackson" (the one in my pic) dead, face down in some plants. I instantly took him out and inspected him and there wasn't any sign of external abuse or parasite. Besides being duller in color and lifeless, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with him. I should add that lately he hasn't seemed as energetic and I caught him laying on his side on the ground once a few weeks ago. He got up when I leaned in for a closer look and I hadn't seen him do it since so I figured he was OK.
Water tests revealed 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 5 for the nitrates. To be honest, I haven't done a good water change in 3 or 4 weeks (at that time it was a nearly full change). Needless to say I did a half change just now. the rest of the fish seem to be fine.
Honestly, besides not doing regular changes I'm not sure what happened. I've read conflicting pieces of info from different sites about DG life expectancy. Some say 2 months some say 5 years. Does anyone have any clue what might have happened?
