hey all
since my last post algae problem seems to be almost gone
i did a real stupid thing yesterday
i did 80 % water change AND NEVER TOOK OUT MY FAKE PLANTS TO CLEAN THEM !
filled up tank and was enjoying seeing everything and then relized i never cleaned the plants
took them out and of coarse POOF ! ALGAE ! went everywhere
i was so mad !
cleaned them nice and put back in
got home this morning and the tank is looking great ( i did ad some algae drops yesterday) because i just want this problem gone.
i know i was over feeding and they were getting to much light ( had to adjust blinds because sun is changing how it comes in my room )
and once i get some pictures @ 50 kb ! ill post them.
and most important my tests today
ph 7.6
Amonia 0.25
nitrite 0
nitrate 10
now i think these are good numbers
please let me know what you think
thanks all !

Looks a lot better. Keep a good water change schedule and you should be able to get a handle on that last little bit of cloudiness.

Keep an eye on that ammonia. Otherwise your numbers look good.

wanted to see what kind of difference i get after doing water change with my tests
ph 7.6
amonia 0 !
nitrite 0
nitrate between 5.0 and 10.0
if my results were the same again then something would have been wrong
LOL !! ( operator error )

just curious, since you have so many guppies. how long does one live in your tank? i see that they must have reproduced a ton in your tank, but surely they dont live for too long so whats the lifeline?
ive pulled 3 total out in past 3-4 months ( they didnt look funky or anthing )
1 of them was beat up
my sons tank about the same (so i guess a fish a month)
im really surprised my self at the life span ( and there ability to adapt to noobie mistakes ! )
ide say the fish are now at least a year old maybe closer to 1 and 1/2
i vacuumed my sons tank the other day and i disturbed a bunch of babies ( darn it !)
the other fish had a feast !! LOL
but anyway since we have had the fish not many casualties
and FEEDING TIME IS SWEET ! LOL
just have to make sure i dont overfeed again
later
Bryan..............
PS i use to have a sucker fish in sons tank but he got pretty big in a year ( he was eating good ! LOL ) hes in a 550 gal pond in our main office at work and doing great
i have a sucker fish in my 20 gal ( but he hangs out under the castle )
and i know in a while ill have to take him out ( the lfs person did tell me they get big )he wont be in my 20 gal for a year maybe 1/2 year

its pretty cool because, you have an endless cycle of fish, tons reproduce and many die, the only weird thing is the inbreds, but i guess that doesn't matter for fish
im sure i have some unique fish ( i dont know what kind of breeding has been going on but we shall see !! LOL
im going to video record my tank for a while ( So Many to see !! LOL )
