This last tank setup, I had one last for several weeks. I did all sorts of testing on the water, but it came up fine. It finally went cleared... I hope yours does not last as long. *celebrate

Little Fry- What does the water look like? Milky white is more than likey "new tank syndrome" and can be cleared up with BioStart, Toxivec, StressZyme- adding good bacteria to the water becuase you have over filtered, cleaned, or w/c'ed.

Pig Pen- Green seems like it might just be algae overgrowth. If you are near windows or leaving your lights on for hours on end, that is your prob right there. Try cutting lights off for a week/ closing blinds/ or doing a "black out" by wraping the glass with a black trash bag for a week to stop the overgrowth. Doing daily water changes and vacuuming the gravel will help clear it up too.

Just some ides without knowing too much info on either sitatuoin...

Actually the milky white indicates a bacterial population explosion, in other words the tank is getting a nice colony of bacteria... in other words, no need for adding bacteria at this late point, it is taking care of the problem on its own.

I guess there's a couple diff blooms then, because when I went thru it, it was the opposite. I had no bacteria of any kind and after adding some for a few days, everything went back to normal. My amonia was at 0, and I had to take a sample in for the nitrates/trites and she never told me those readings, just what to do about them, so I can't recall what they were at.

I wish I would have gotten the good bacteria bloom! Oh well, thus is life. :)
