Ok I found this template for a 75 Gallon:

* 1 trio Nimbochromis
* 1 trio Placidochromis
* 2 trios Psuedotropheus
* 1 quartet (1m/3f) Labeotropheus
* 1 trio Sciaenochromis
* 1 trio Cynotilapia
* 2 Julidochromis (larger species)
* 1 Eretmodus
* 1 trio Dimidiochromis
* 1 to 3 Synodontis Catfish
* 1 large Plecostomus

Seems like to many? When it just says 1 trio, will it matter 3 males or 3 females etc..?

I currently have 1 Yellow Lab and 2 Electric Blue Cichlids - will be adding to them in a 75 gallon tank - 18" X 20" X 48" - PH 7.8

Any tips would be great, I want to mix as many as possible - need to cut this list up a bit?

It was a google search for stocking 75 gallon with african cichlids, thought it was kind of crazy. I have no clue what to put into this tank. I have been to tons of LFS (not chains like petco) and they tell me it don't matter what I put in as long as I overstock the tank. They all say pick what you like, who cares if they are male or female or what type.

I then come online and everyone says this type works with that, 12 of these min. - 1 male to 4 females. My point is that I am confused, I know I want a colorful tank with plenty of variation. If I can get several different types of fish that would rock.

Any suggestions?

I'd recommend mbuna. Hardy, and very colourful. Pretty easy to keep, but do your research on species before stocking, and come up with a good game plan.

Visit cichlid-forum.com and check through the profiles section, get an idea of what you like and we can go from there.

well it turns out my 2 electric blues are actually Metriaclima lombardoi "Kenyi" both around 2" one is bright darker blue with dark black stipes the other is lighter blue with stripes not so dark. Have no clue if they are males or females. Looks like they are very aggressive. Should I add more of them when I stock it or not a good idea... I am going to add more Yellow labs (1 currently)

Nope...I bet if you try your best you might be able to squeeze one more in there. :rolleyes:

I agree with Sinister. Go with mbuna and give 'em plenty of places to hide. I maintain a 180g cichlid tank and doubt there are even that many adult fish in that tank.
