I have two questions.
After adding some rummynose tetras to my tank they got ick (but none of my other fish caught it). I treated them with the drops but since I had some skinned fish (red tailed black sharks and clown loaches) the directions told me to only do a half dosage for 3 days.

1.The tetras never healed, they just died, why?? what should I have done? was it maybe because I could only do a half a dose?

2. One of my smaller sharks (probably because of the ick cure drops) started to lose some skin or something. There is a white spot on him. It's been there for quite a while now, about 2 weeks, and he seems fine in every other way, but will it ever go away?

Ich usually starts when the fishes' immune system is compromised, making them more susceptible to any disease.

How long has the aquarium been established? What size is it? Is it cycled?

What are you readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

A picture of the shark with the spot would help identify what is wrong.

If its 50kb or smaller, you can use the attachment function (the little paperclip) here. Most get their photos hosted (lots of free sites for that) and the post a link to the image.

looks like you have a fungus there. *SICK*

If you can handle the fish try dabbing the infection with some malachite green swabbed on a q-tip a once a day until it is gone. If you can't handle him easily put him in a fish bowl and give him a bath in methylene blue for 15-20 minutes until the fungus starts turning blue. do this daily until the fungus is gone. don't add the methylene blue directly to your tank or you will kill the bio filtration.

I treated my fish for fungus the same time i treated them for ick.

would it have anything to do with the ick treatment stuff because it happened right after that.

will it transfer to any other fish?

its not generally contagous to other fish, but if you have another tank to isolate this guy in while you treat him that would be best. The ich treatment wouldn't cause a fungal infection, but the fish could have developed the fungal infection as a secondary infection due to the ich (if that makes sense). Basically, your fish could have been damaged by the ich parasite/cyst and a fungal infection took hold in the injured spot.

You really need to treat the fungal infection or eventually it will kill your fish.

IMO I usually treat the fish with one thing at a time. Some things can say not to do two different treatments at a time. Another thing is if you do have a hospital tank to put him in case it was a fungus that could spread). Also you can try anything you can look and do some reading on malachite green, formalin, hydrogen peroxide, sodium chloride.. those are few things I use to try and use.
