I have just upgraded my tank to a 110 litre tank( i only do metric) It was supplied with a fluval u3 pump which has an air bleeder on top of the top pump. How important is is to have air in the tank circulating as I have no bubbler in it? What are the advantages? Thanks

As long as you have some aggitation on the surface from a filter or something you should be fine. If the tank is very tall and has a small foot print then you might need some airation

he means a tall tank with very little surface area on both top and bottom..
Yes, footprint is the size of the base, the same as the top. if it is small compaired to a tall tank you would be able to have more inhabatants given the volume but have less gas exchange at the surface compaired to a tank of simular volume but shorter, having a larger footprint.
