hello all,
does anyone know if there is a safe way of removing the white limescale from my aqaurium light bulb. it seems to have built up and i would like to remove it
advise needed thankyou
Get some Vinegar and a piece of cloth (old rag). Saturate the cloth in the Vinegar, let it soak for a while, then wipe with a damp (water only) rag. If it is a small bulb you can probably even rinse it off.
Whatever you do, let the bulb dry completely before reinstallation and use. Wouldn't want to test out your ability to ground or "earth" an electrical charge.
I live in an area with very calcified water and it messes up everything. I use vinegar for this all the time because many of the things I am cleaning contain beverages and it is totally odorless and non-toxic once rinsed away. It can even neutralize some unpleasant odors and tastes. There are also other chemicals on the market here (so presumably also in your neck of the woods) but they are usually very toxic, corrosive and expensive.
Hope that does the trick,
ChakaRaka.
