got a new heater for my 30 gallon today since the one that came with the tank sucked. within a few hours the temp could change up to 10 degrees. so I got a marineland visi therm stealth. I like my visi therm in my 20 gallon and figured that was a good one to go with again. just one thing I'm not liking is the fact that it has no indicator light to signal when it's on like the original visi therm or my neptune in my 55. just one design flaw I see with it, well to my perspective.

The 'Stealth' version is designed that way on purpose. Some don't want to see the heater light on because they felt it 'ruined' the look of an aquascaped tank, bringing attention to the heater.

Most of my tanks have Stealths. I just go by the thermometer to know that its working. I don't much care WHEN its cycling on or off as long as the temperature is where it should be.

Since its still relatively new, you may be able to exchange it for the version you like better.

I got the stealth mostly since it's shatter proof. that way I know it should be fine when ever I get a job good enough to be able to afford to move out. one less thing to worry about. and I'm not complaining about it realy. just nice to see the light to know it's working.
