Yeah, so I listened to some random post on another forum and they have no clue wtf they are talking about. they said otos loved nori, dried seaweed. put it in the tank and by morning it would be gone, and she only had 2 otos. I put in the smallest amount and it was not eaten by anything other than the angelfish, and I can't get all the floating buts out of the tank.

I changed 1/3 my water and it still looks like a tank that had never had a water change in years. Frankly, I am pretty pissed.

on top of all that, I could only spot 1 of my 2 black kuhlis, I am hoping they are okay.

rofl, yea I too had not had success with sushi nori. No fish of mine would actually eat it, they just loved ripping it up...

I advise you stick to blanched spinach for the otos ;)

Weird...I have never heard of oto's loving nori. I wonder what else she has in the tank. Maybe something else could have eaten it, likes snails.

That's to bad that your tank is messed up from trying it out...
Hopefully your Kuhli's are ok!!

Doom, if you like rich, savoury stuff, PM me and I'll tell you how turn raw spinach into the most decadent creamed spinach in a flash ;) You won't even notice you are eating vegetables. And it's really easy - you could even do it on a hotplate.
Alternately, what about washing, drying and freezing it so it doesn't rot in your fridge?

A box of frozen spinich is cheap. My hubby gets out his aggression by smashing the box with a hammer and then stores the chucks of frozen spinnich into a freezer-safe baggie. Easy to grab a chunk and toss it into the tank.

My otos love nori, as do my rasbora.

Orange, your fish actually eat it and not just rip it up for fun?
I cut it into several thin 'noodles' (my hubby's words) so that there is less fighting, but yes, they eat it. I wedge a chunk for the otos between two small rocks and the rasbora (Chili Rasbora is their common name) eat it floating. Next time I get some, I'll post a video of them!

rofl spinach isnt all that bad with dressing. and its good for you...or at least Popeye..
and my Popeye too, he almost thrashes Orangina in corner if she get in between his spinach.

I have yet to put spinach since moving them in 46 G tank. their energy levels have sky rocketed. (maybe i was keeping them in V small tank depleting them with oxygen and no place to move due to plants :( ). I want to record a 1 or 2 hour footage and make a speeded-up 2 min clip.
