Fishtank bear diseases, how to prevent getting infected?

So i knew the fishtanks are not really a healthy ecosystem as they are really ripe environment for all sort of bacteria to culture and grow.

Are there any know diseases spread by goldfish tanks and ways to prevent getting infected?

I have huge goldfish tank and goldfish male (popeye) is 9+ inches long , female is 7 inches long (including fancy tail). Both of them go into spawning activities after every 6-7 days regularly for the past months, the male is now so huge , he easily clouds the entire 46G tank with his milt (which even gets frothy) and my whole house gets rotten-egg smell brewing in air and its sickening. I have to really open all windows/doors and turning on ceiling fans at high speed for some hours
at evening i do a 30% water change even when the water-parameters are totally good (except the nitrate is always above 20, no matter how many w.c i do, even daily 30% w.c for 3 days kept nitrates above 20).

so is this spawning behaviour and the smell in the room harmful for my health or its harmless and will be just discomforting for me and nothing really health-threatening?

BTW its not rotten eggs smell, its difficult to explain. its kind-of like pungent spunky smell and i have to lie to my maid that i had some eggs earlier (when she comes later but doesnt know its the fish-mating causing it).

its like popeye is doing bukkake on my room. (dont google that if you dont know. i am WARNING YOU, DONT).

EDIT: Goldfish mating can go for hours and it usually start v early in morning when there is start of daylight, I wake up at 7.30am in morning and i wake up , check my killi-fish tank, it gives me huge smile, i start their lights , they start going chirpy , i adjust myself and open my room door and then i get HIT WITH THE WAFTING SMELL OF POPEYE's milt going in the house. you need to see my face. its sickening. i quickly start opening windows wide open and even the doors and turn all fans on.

Fish TB (tuberculosis) is caused by mycobacteriosis, and is not related to the lung disease TB in humans.

I've read that as much as 80% of tropical fish have or carry it. Humans, when cleaning and maintaining aquariums can catch it through an open sore or cut. It can't live in humans except to cause a rash on the skin.

Washing immediately after having your hands in a tank and wearing gloves or avoiding the water if you have open sores are the best preventatives.

I've not read anything yet about goldfish, just tropicals.

After dealing with my fish tanks I usually do the doctor scrub with soap, soap from hand to elbow.

this is why people spawn goldfish outdoors. it is also why goldfish get hunted down by birds and cats.

in terms of goldfish diseases as long as you do not eat the fish you are safe. I'm 100% serious in that the majority of diseases you can get from them are stuff like worms that you can only obtain when you eat them.

@ achase, my face is not that far away from what it looks in that sketch, i dont have much hair on head and my ears are almost invisible from front. and my eyes really do squint away like that . Its real .


@doomhed. Mate, I did not wish for super-spawning goldfish pair. I wish i can make him go impotent, if there were testies hanging, i would have happily chopped them off. seriously . anyone, let me know if there is anything like anti-viagra for goldfish. i will feed it . i wont mind overfeeding him with anti-viagra things. :|

If it makes you feel any better I was changing the oil in my Impala the other day and I accidentally spilled a fair amount on my exhaust manifold. Every time I turn the car on now my face looks just like that. It smells horrible . . .

wish i did that year ago, wouldn't have got attached so much and he was kinda smallish that time. now he is around 9-10 inches or more. kinda impossible to find a keeper, maybe some hotel or some doctor's big aquarium might take it. donno. but i am looking for some private pond keeper, the people who keep small ponds in bungalow's etc. lets see. i hav spread word around.
