I don't think it would be a problem. after all I put about 10 pounds of lead into the rivers myself a year. multiply that by 1000+ fishermen and a hundred years of lead shot duck hunting. it don't bother the river

I dont know but lead is a toxic element and could kill humans as well as fish. I guess its okay if its not really lead but some other metal and its just called lead.

If you hunt please use steel shot. Also, please use non-toxic fishing weights made from steel or tungsten.

Waterfowl often eat lead sinkers and shot and in general lead contaminates the water causing birth defect in wildlife and eventually in humans.

If you want birds to shoot at, ya gotta give them a chance to grow up healthy.
