Its due to the decreased immune system and stress. Sick fish are stressed. Stress lowers their immune system, as does fighting something else off. I was prepared for this. Having fish slough their slime coat is pretty much like stripping the skin off a human. They are open to anything. So after an illness, water quality and quality food are very important. I am feeding in tiny quantities to make sure there is no left over food. They will eat more like this too, which is important right now. Tiny amounts, multiple times a day.

She's doing well. Maybe a wee bit better.

Had to stick with chocolate before work. They are such sticklers about that whole wine thing.

Thanks for the explanation - I guess I kinda already knew that, but it's still nice for me to feel that I really understand it all in my wee brain.
And I'm so happy to hear that she's getting better, fingers crossed for you and your babes!

BTW- you should get into publishing - wine consumption is pretty much required at my office!!!

Wine as a requirement, hmmm. What a fine idea! Any job openings?

The fish looks like crap today. What a rollercoaster! So, I can't decide which way to go logically. Does she look bad because I am treating with an antibiotic and its really a fungus? Or is that goop on her eyes just the last hurrah of the initial illness? Its a toss up. Do fish have slime coating over their eyes? Because it kind of looks the same as the sloughing off slime coat looked like.
