Brush/Red Algae

#1
I'm having a minor (so far) algae issue. I've looked through a lot of algae photos to try and pick exactly what it is, there are three places it appears:

part of my driftwood
part of the java fern
the spray bar's holes

I think it's this brush algae, it's blackish in color and looks like a beard flowing and when you have it out of the water its just goopy. I'm still definitely not a fish tank pro and am working on the balance of the water parameters, lighting and CO2. It had been in the tank before and then I couldn't find it in there at least within what I could see and now it appears to be back. So I'm guessing that now that I see that its on the filter's spray bar, it will always come back because it's somehow in there?

So what are some techniques I could use to get rid of it? I hear SAE's are great, I don't have any though.
