Good Morning! I have been keeping fish tanks for about 7 years now this time around (also as a kid, but that was a LONG time ago!) and have always used API Stress Coat to dechloronate my water. I think because that is what was sold to me so that is what I am used too. I have never had any issue with it, but was wondering if there is a better product out there?

What do you use? Why? Benefits?

Why?

Inexpensive per dose (2 drops per gallon), breaks the chlorine/ammonia bond of chloramine, removes chlorine, permanently binds heavy metals, and (temporarily) detoxifies the ammonia left behind when chlorine is removed from chloramine, giving it time to be processed by the biofilter

Benefits?

Can be used as an emergency detox for ammonia and nitrite spikes, preventing fish loss. The temporary binding of ammonia and nitrite does not interfer with the biofilter (allows the biofilter to still convert ammonia to nitrite, and nitrite to nitrate). For saltwater tanks, does not overactivate the protein skimmer.
