Cool, thanks Bass. I think I'm going to go through with it and get two. Would you recommend finding someone to sell me a mated pair or is it pretty easy to just get a random male and a random female and let nature take its course?

It's easy to get a random male and female to pair off. Mine came from the same shipment, but there were more males than females in the tank and I actually got them at different times (waited a week to see how Tyr fared before getting Zroya) and I had no problems getting them to pair up. I've been told that when I get a new female, Tyr should take to her readily enough. They aren't like some cichlid species (angels, for example), who pretty much mate for life.

The other red will occasionally start the little game of tag that all danios play, but quickly stops when she realizes he isn't going to move very fast. Definitely not being bullied. He's been swimming through "raining" food without even nibbling it looks like.

I had a platy with similar symptoms. I treated with melafix and she died. I never figured out what was wrong, but none of my other fish got whatever it was.

Sorry, I forgetted.

10 Gallon standard
Top Fin Whisper 10
0/0/20-30 PH: 7.6+ Temp: 79F
Black Substrate-Gravel
3 Mystery Snails
5 Glofish
Random rocks, mostly slate and granite
4-5 oyster shells (which get ground on by the snails fairly regularly)
Bubbler in a Jaguar skull
Anacharis
AquaSafe Plus (approx 7-9 drops per gallon)

It's been a few days since I checked parameters (maybe 4-5 days?). I'll check it again tonight. If it's still fine I'll pick me up some internal parasite stuff.

Jungle - Parasite Guard added to 10 gal. (after I removed the snails and carbon)
(metronidazole and praziquantel)

I don't know if the one will live. He was coughing up blood (or coloration?) and not really moving much when I got home. Wish me luck, but I doesn't look good.

I'm down to three glofish. They seem to be doing alright. The treatment is over and I really hope it was just internal parasites. The male keeps trying to spawn with one of the two girls. It's a pity I don't have marbles down. Maybe they'll lay some in the rocks?

Oh, and I succumbed to the lure of the GBR. Full sized was 15. So I got a juvie for 7. Acclimating as we speak.

...and since I'm uploading, here's a pic of my three amigos, Larry, Moe and Curly.

Fish in!

All I have to say at the moment is....

Territorial dwarf gourami is territorial!

No nipping so far. Philbert has been sneaking up behind her (Priscilla or Persephone, I can't decide what to call her yet), waiting for for her to realize he's flaring and go BOO!

At least she's pecking at the log....like everything else in the tank does.

Yep, she eats flake. She eats freeze-dried tubifex. She eats it right in front of Philbert to pester him intentionally....or obliviously.

What's a good old world name (from around the 40s-60s) for a woman who gets into trouble through either annoyance or ignorance? Ethel? Stella? Lucille?

I'm totally not ready for a Fred and Ethel Mertz yet.

Although....

Hey, if I moved my 3 remaining glofish to my 29 I'd have a free 10 gal and all the danios "should" school. What goes good in pairs for a 10 gallon?

Edit: Unless my mollies grow up to be boy/girl....
