I like to turn a lamp light on first, then the room light then the tank light, giving each stage 5 to 10 minutes, the the opposite for at night. You could try this out.
It's a strong possibility. At the end of the day they are nocturnal and territorial so any fighting wouldn't have been seen. Just because you can't see it and they hide when the lights on doesn't mean it's not happening.
hmm i would suggest a bottle of Easy life. Helps fish heal faster and give's them there slime coat back. But i dont know if they sell it were u are ? It worked for me as my golden perch got into abit of a scuff with my oscar. Added some easy life and a few days later he was all good.
My pregnant molly just got a similar wound. I'm thinking since it was her first pregnancy that she flipped out when I came into the room and knocked herself out....at least that's what I saw.
