In my tank I gave 2 common plecs 5", 2 albino bristlenose plecs,1 gourmi, 2 plattys,3 black skirt tetras,1 small bala shark, 2 cory cats,4 giant danios,2 hatchet fish,5 mollys, 1 dwarf frog, and two mystery snails. They are in a 46 gallon bow tank with a bubble wall, drift wood, skull, and ship and lots a plants. I wanted to know if this was too many fish for now at there current size.

Yes, that is WAY too many fish. You NEVER stock a tank based on the current size of the fish. You ALWAYS stock based on their adult size.

Your black skirt tetras should be in a school of AT LEAST six, preferably more (they can get nippy). Your cories need to be in a school of at least six, the more the merrier. The giant danios prefer groups of at least six. The hatchet fish are shy and nervous fish who need to be in large schools (8+) to be comfortable. The dwarf frog may not be getting enough (or anything) to eat, as they often require being target-fed because of their poor eyesight. I hope you have a TON of algae (like can't see in the tank it's so bad) with all those algae eaters in there (three plecos and two snails), or they're going to starve. The common pleco is going to get 18" minimum, needs at least a 90gal tank and produces at TON of waste. The bala shark needs to be in a group of at least 5, but they get to be 13" and are extremely active, so they need MONSTER tanks (like 500gals).

Ok well firstly welcome to the forum!

It's not a good idea to work on the basis of the current size of your fish - all first grow, and if you're planning on providing a long-term/permanent home you should always stock based on the potential size of the fish when fully grown.

You do have too many fish in there at the moment, simply because of the common plecs and the bala shark. Common plecos can (and do) grow to up to 2 feet. Bala sharks need to be in groups and grow to over a foot. Add to this that they are active fish, they require lots of space in a huge aquarium.

If you were to rehome the common plecos and bala shark, you'd be pretty much on target in terms of stocking.

Now I'm not sure what sort of advice you're asking for here but I would certainly look into rehoming the common plecos and bala sharks. You could probably replace them with a couple more corydoras, black skirt tetras and hatchet fish (they like to be in groups

Also, mollies breed like rabbits, and they can become a big problem if they continue to reproduce in the aquarium.

Hope this is of help!

Simple answer, yes. Even without the fish fully grown you are overstocked.

YES way Overstocked based on the poop the Pleco's will produce! The other thing you should ask yourself is "Do you want the fish to just survive or excel?" If you want them to be happy and healthy, fix the schools and get rid of the fish that will outgrow your tank.
