My 55 gallon tank, pics inside

I don't know the name i get it for free in a LFS i purchase a betta, but i think is cabomba, cause it looks like that. I'm starting to work with plants, i just order some java moss, and will be attempting a iwagumi scape for a small tank for my betta.

Doing some research i think the plant i have is not cabomba is more like Hornwort.

I'm doign some research to change my lights, i might go with 8 CFL of 13W, that way i can change intensity of light easily and cheap. This is the plant:

It looks like hornwort to me but my plant knowledge is limited.
I have kept in the past what I'm pretty sure was hornwort but it didn't do well. The only plants I seem to have success with are java ferns and anubis (it even flowered - didn't know it could do that).

Another note I love the look of your tank....it looks really sharp!

Looks like either hornwort or cabomba. I'd push towards cabomba only because it seems to be more common in stores. I had some purple cabomba and it just totally fell apart in my tank.

To help plant grow is why i'm changing my light, i'll try to do a DIY guide for everybody, i'm building a canister filter to just for bio filtering.

I purchase 8 of this cfl, they are T2 tecnology so more light less space less heat, they put about 62 lumens/watt and i think is really nice for a low tech. I'll put then the eliminate dark spots on the tank, let the plant mania start

I purchase elodea more hornwort and some corkscrew vallisneria, still wating for my java moss to arrive.

I'm gonna use the java moss in a low light iwagumi tank i'm gonna build, but might use some of it on the tree log, i should make the log more natural.
