Hmmm...my stone says you were never coming back here...lol But anyways, Yep.

They really seem to do ok with it as long as there are atleast 3[there should be more tho]...They sometimes get really mean and vicious but that only last for a few minutes at the most...if it lasts longer, then they have to be separated because it'll never work out long term...but 99% of my FMs have done great in sorority settings and never gotten bad[just ripped/slightly nipped fins here and there]...

The absolute minimum I would suggest is a 10gal with generally as many FMs as a tank could support[in a 10, I'd recommend 7 rather then more because they don't really like to be heavily cramped[even tho they need to be to a degree] and maintenance would be crazy].

I'm planning on spawning my platinum/gold male crowntail[kilovolt] with a gold CT girl and all the resulting betta girls will probably get the 40gB...

HTH,
-Kenny

Random...picked colors/patterns I liked and went from there...

Just, FYI, it's always nice to have an extra tank handy for a major aggressor if you do happen to get one...

That should be fine!

Just remember to keep up with WCs and such...individuals aren't a massive bioload per se, but for the numbers you need to add to cut back aggression, they build up waste faster in a group...

A suggestion, hornwort is a major nutrient sponge and grows fast enough to be a major visibility block from them seeing each other all the time and getting stressed by that...it's pretty cheap, too...

In my 55gal sorority community, I don't have the light to keep plants alive[yet the vals & sword are hanging in], so I use the hardscape[driftwood, mainly] as a sight blocker...

I have Aponogetons that have long since outgrown my 5.5 gallon that il move to my bigger tank. And il most likely buy some Amazon swords, Anacharis, Corkscrews AND i have some driftwood soaking in my uncles pond til it is fully sinkable. it does a handstand at the moment haha. What do you think would be the Female limit in a 25 gallon tank if i include a few small tankmates?

I'd honestly opt for 7 in a 25gal...that way you could do like say cardinal tetras or some similar schooling fish, kuhli loaches or cories, and a bristlenose pleco...

That could work...and in fact would be great! But I wouldn't worry about the rubberlip pleco...if that's what you wanted, I say go for it...

AqAdvisor is really just a guide to help determine some options...not full out and out gospel...

oh and regarding the clown plecs-- if you want an active pleco, don't go with clowns. They basically choose a cave, live in there and then come out realllly late to eat. plus they don't eat much in the way of algae. Somebody on here mentioned they really prefer meatier foods. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE my clown pleco! When he's out, he's such a ... well.... clown . (pun not intended!)

I want an ACTIVE pleco haha. Rubberlips active? I also really like this pleco but he gets to big unless i get my 40 gallon breeder (fingers still crossed) Tropical Fish for Freshwater Aquariums: Thomasi Pleco (L-187b)

I'm not sure about active plecos per se, but as soon as they get used to you, they won't hide and you can see them do what they do[atleast that was my experience with my rubberlip]...my clowns weren't that shy either...but they were alittle slower due to the fact they got Septicemia and I just kept that under control rather then was able to completely beat it.

The Thomasi is nice, but IDK that much about it so I can't help you much there[other then saying you're right that a 40gB would work for it]...

But *WOW* those bettas *ARE* gorgeous...If I wasn't so pressed on time and resources, I would totally snag some bettas from AB...lol I'd probably opt for males tho...like a new HM for example... :D

To be honest, I'm not sure of the specifics...I've never got one from there...always found the ones in the stores that need rescuing/TLC and it kills my chance to get purebred ones...

I'm pretty sure if you order out of country, the betta gets shipped to a trans-shipper who ships them from there to you[I'd guess to your house]...in the US, they'd just send the betta(s) to your house...

How do they ship on Aquabid if they ship to you. does it come to your post office or straight to your house?
The first bid you showed will only ship to Canada. The other will ship to the USA if you pay the shipping fees. From Bangkok, expect an addtional $25-30 per fish, so $55-60 minimum for one fish (depending on the winning bid).

How they arrive depends on the shipping method. Those sent to via the Post Office will come to your house if you have delivery there. If you must go pick up mail, then you'd have to pick them up there.

AB is risky, if you get dead fish you are generally just out the money... even if they have a live arrival guarantee, you have to get them on the first try from UPS with a signature for arrival and photograph the dead fish with in 30 minutes... When you pay as much as you do on AB then pay to ship... then get something dead... well it's a bummer...

Rubber lips are touchy about water parameters, i would go bushy. They really are going to be the easiest to keep and the most active. If you want to be fancy then I'd go leapord frog, colombian zebra, or snowball. I can generally pick those guys up in the 30.00 range. AB tends to be higher but higher end fish stores tend to get fancy plecos in from time to time so i would just call around find out who gets them and then wait.
