It is nice! Good job on keeping the betta boy happy!

Just my 2 cents, I'd still recommend ditching the incandescent bulb for a compact fluorescent bulb, tho for the continued health of your plants... :) When you see the difference in spectrum[6500k, nothing else in a normal 5gal lid in a FW tank] you'll *NEVER* want anything to do with the yellow spectrum bulbs again...the white[actually green] makes the tank look sooooo much clearer/crisper/brighter...atleast that's my experience/opinion...

Another suggestion is to buy one of the curly-q florescent bulbs that screw in, like the 13 watt type. I did this in one of my old hoods while I was saving to buy a T-8 hood and glass. It looks much better then the old type bulb and its cheap!!!
