Hello, I think this is the right section for this poll.
I was just curious; what kind of fish do you guys prefer, common fish (Betta, Guppy, neon terra, etc.) Rare fish (boraras species, dwarf cichlids like rams, etc.) Or inverted (pest snails don't count)?

I like rare fish. Usually these fish have qualities about them that are just so irresistible, like the tiny size of the Boraras. Sure, typical guppies may be colorful, but the Ram Cichlid's shimmering colored are simply stunning.

Common fish are great, but I really like the more 'rare' species like blue rams. I would agree, they are shimmery and gorgeous. If I could get my hands on one where I live, then I would love to have it in my tank :D

I would say that most people like Guppies for their striking colors and ease of care. I don't like how sick they can be and I prefer Bettas. After having a male and a female. I got so attached. I'm going to Walmart today and idk if I'll save a Betta or not. It depends on how they look. I might get a Cambodian. :D

I like community plant tanks. I have seen a few that are stunning. Schooling fish and a few with a personality I think make the best views.
Cardinals in a school are stunning as are cory cats. One of my favorites is the simese algae eater. He has a personality like a salt water flame hawk, he perches on stuff in the aquarium and hops slightly when spoken to before feeding. Not a big fan of the gromies or guppies as they usually seem to die after a few months. Could be the water conditions or food/ tankmates. Some fish just seem to have more options as tank mates go. Glow fish are a shame.
